curiosities

Brooklyn sees curiosities as extra topics she is passionate about. She draws inspiration from these topics in both her creative and everyday life, and each one has provided experiences that have played a part in shaping the person she is today.

Travelling

Travelling is one of Brooklyn's favorite activities, and she has been extremely fortunate to travel to many places around the world. She is always excited to learn more about other countries, what their traditions are, how the people in those countries live and how they experience life differently to what she knows. As well as travelling for fun, her family also live overseas, and she tries to visit them as frequently as she can.

Earth Science

Earth Science is a subject Brooklyn finds to be quite thought provoking, and is always trying to learn more about. Everything from natural disasters and how they are triggered, to the different layers of the Earth's crust, to all of the forests, mountains and lakes that have naturally formed over time. Most particularly, she is interested in the physical geography of Earth and how vast our planet is, housing the vast deserts and ancient glaciers.

Mental Health

To Brooklyn, mental health is as important as physical health and is an extremely important factor in everyday life.  She is often involved in open discussions about mental health and how they can affect people if not addressed. She supports and advocates for RU OK and The Push for Better Foundation, two companies that are trying to break the stigmas around mental health and encourage more conversation around these struggles.

Ocean Conservation

Ocean Conservation is one of the topics Brooklyn is most passionate about. She is doing her part by recycling correctly, using less plastic resources, and also watching her consumption and waste. She is constantly looking into companies that aim to regrow coral and protect areas from coral bleaching. Watching ocean documentaries and reading up on the new National Geographic articles help her to uncover new ways to help the oceans and widen her knowledge on their vital importance.

Reading

Brooklyn has grown up reading novels and having a wide collection of books, and this is the reason why she enjoys writing so much. To be welcomed into worlds full of dragons and castles, assassins running from their hunters, secret tunnels leading to alternate realities, or into the minds of mystical creatures. The idea of relating to characters that have the same fears you do, falling in love with the villain, or hating the hero are opportunities to let your imagination run wild. There is a sense of joy when indulging in a new book, and it will forever be one of her favorite activities.

Sustainable fashion

For as long as she can remember, Brooklyn has been obsessed with fashion and all the gorgeous fabrics and materials designers use to create clothes. In the past few years, she has come to realise just how detrimental the fashion industry can be to our environment if not handled correctly. She is a supporter of sustainable brands and is working towards ridding her closet of 'fast fashion' and reducing her own carbon footprint.

Animal protection

Animals are such an important part of our planet and Brooklyn is dedicated to saving as much of our wildlife as possible. She believes greatly in the importance of protecting the ocean's sharks, as they are vital for the oceans ecosystem. Orcas are one of her favourite animals, and she is more dedicated than ever to help protect them in the wild. She does her part by supporting companies that protect these animals.
